Sun Cruise Theme Park in Gangneung Korea

by - March 16, 2021

Hi guys! This is my second-time visiting Cruise Resort & Yacht and words can't describe how excited I was here again! The Sun Cruise Resort and Yacht is one of the most popular tourist attractions in South Korea. Have you heard about Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht? Or have any of you ever been to Sun Cruise Theme Park (썬크루즈 테마공원) in Gangneung, South Korea?

The parking area is huge, so it was easy to park, but the parking fee is a bit expensive. I'm warning you that this post contains more than 20 pictures. If you think you will get sick of scrolling a blog post with many pictures, kindly do yourself to exit my blog. But if you enjoy reading and looking at a lot of amazing pictures taken by me, well come, sit together with me, and let me bring you into a wonderful place in the Sun Cruise Theme Park.

The front gate of the Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht (썬크루즈). I think you can see how big of this ship. Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht is a hotel resort in Jeongdongjin on the east coast of South Korea. Designed in the image of a cruise ship, notably the Royal Caribbean International Sovereign Class, the hotel is 165 meters (541 ft) long and 45 meters (148 ft) tall and overlooks the beach resort. It is believed to be the first of its kind in the world.

Built at the top of a large cliff, the hotel looks out over the sea and gives the impression that a cruise ship has run aground. The town of Jeongdongjin is known for its views of the sunrise and sunset over the Sea of Japan (East Sea) and is itself a tourist destination. This has been further enhanced by the construction of the hotel, with its unusual design making it one of the most popular attractions in the country.

Other attractions of the park include Grass Park, a large green field, a Sculpture park with pieces in three themes, glass observatory, providing a walk right over the ocean, an observatory platform to view the surrounding area, and exhibition hall, showcasing the history of Sun Cruise Resort.

There is an entrance fee to go to this place. Entrance fee for adults is 5,000won.

The Sun Cruise (썬크루즈) has 211 rooms, both condominium and hotel style, a Western and a Korean restaurant, a revolving sky lounge, a night club, a karaoke, and seawater pool. It also offers 6 state-of-the-art function rooms for seminars and workshops.

I was amazed at the beauty and architectural great of this hotel.

I love the magnificent view from the top.

The first thing that shocked me was the water! I have never found a beach in Korea with clear blue water like this in Jeongdongjin. Water is so clean that you can see the bottom of the sea. You'll enjoy it more and feel truly more relaxed.

Many couples lock their padlock of love onto the pole and to dream that their love will last forever.

The garden features the famous sculpture "The Hands of Blessing," and other art pieces that blend with the sunrise over the ocean.

A jangseung or village guardian is a Korean totem pole usually made of wood. Jangseungs were traditionally placed at the edges of villages to mark for village boundaries and frighten away demons. They were also worshipped as village tutelary deities.

Admire the beautiful architecture all around the area.

This is a unique area with an opportunity to take some interesting and amazing pictures.

The throwing of coins is a popular ritual that tourists from all over the globe just love to take part in.

Beautiful sky, so blue and so clear. There's a bench for outside sitting.

Clear blue sea with the sound of waves crashing in just made me feel peaceful.

It's time to test the guts on the observation area with a glass floor. You have to queue and wait for your turn to get to the observation area with a glass floor.

Stunning view and an unnerving walk on the see-through glass floor.

Do you know, there is a cafe up there? It was cold and windy, so we decided to go to the cafe. Might be best to grab a coffee or tea and sit by the window while watching and enjoy the view of the mountains or the sea.

Inside the cafe.

Wine and liquor bottle display!

I was stunned at the beauty and architectural genius of this cafe. Amazing view of the sea and mountains from our table at the window.

This cafe is huge with lots of seating available.

They offer some cakes, cookies, coffee, pie, and more. So many varieties, you'll want to try them all.

They provide free water.

Very simple and limited choice in the menu.

Tissue

I ordered the ginger tea and my husband got the cafe latte. The drinks were nothing special and overpriced for what it was.

Discount coupon if you order drinks or food at this cafe.

The most expensive drinks in the world can be real. LOL

That's all for today post! Not a detailed and complete one but hope you enjoy this blog post and see you in the next blog post. Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom if you have any inquiry.
